2023–24 Chapter Communications

As Vice President of Communications for SDSU’s Jane K. Smith Cap & Gown Chapter of Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society, I led all chapter-wide communications, marketing, and content strategy. From digital newsletters and campus-wide campaigns to event collateral and outreach materials, I worked to elevate the chapter’s visibility, increase engagement, and celebrate member accomplishments. These efforts helped grow chapter membership by over 600% and earned me Mortar Board’s National Award for Outstanding Chapter Communication in 2024.

Monthly Newsletter

A recurring, digital-first publication designed using tools like Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Word, featuring custom graphics and edited photos. Distributed via email and social media, the newsletter reached 900+ alumni and hundreds of students monthly with chapter updates, spotlights, and service opportunities. Archived online and leveraged in targeted outreach campaigns across San Diego State University.

Ad Campaigns

This collection includes fliers, promotional materials, and targeted graphics created to recruit new members and promote chapter events and initiatives. Design assets were adapted for email, social media, and print distribution.

Initiation Ceremony

A classically styled, minimalist program created for the 2024 Initiation Ceremony. While simple in form, the piece demonstrates thoughtful layout, kerning, and design consistency—proof that no project is too small for careful craftsmanship. The ceremony reflected the success of my marketing and communications efforts, which drove hundreds of applicants to the chapter.
