Video Board Reports
Each spring, the San Diego Community College District Board of Trustees hosts a meeting at Miramar College. As part of this annual visit, the Student Affairs Office contributes to a campus-wide presentation showcasing student services, programs, and campus climate.
Since 2022, I’ve produced a series of short-form videos to represent the division. These presentations center student voices, elevate campus programming, and communicate key impact narratives to college and district leadership. The videos complemented the broader campus update to the Board of Trustees through intentional storytelling and accessible messaging—rooted in the lived experiences of the students our District is missioned to serve.
Each year’s video reflects both the work I contributed to at the college and my broader, ongoing advocacy to keep students at the center of institutional planning. Together, they form a narrative arc:
2022 – Reengaging Students: A dynamic recap of post-pandemic student life and events, focused on welcoming students back to campus.
2023 – Creating Student Spaces: A look at how dedicated resources and support centers foster safety, belonging, and cultural visibility.
2023 – Cultivating Community: A celebration of how clubs and student-led initiatives build sustained engagement, peer support, and leadership development.
Each project was intentionally developed to build on the work of the year before—moving from outreach, to support, to empowerment. From concept to post-production, I handled scripting, filming*, scoring, editing, and final delivery—ensuring that each piece reflected institutional priorities while amplifying the voices of those we serve. Together, these videos helped position student-centeredness as both a guiding principle and a measurable pathway to enrollment, persistence, and success.
